In Belo Horizonte, a city in Brazilian southeast, there is a traditional neighborhood called Bonfim. Most of the residences there were built in an eclectic version of Rococo style. It is where the Casa Rosa do Bonfim (in Brazilian Portuguese, Pink House of Bonfim), a place of social events, is located. It is an authentic space, with an irreverent approach, and much of this perception is due to a simple but powerful intervention: its walls were painted in fluorescent colors, that contrast with the historical architecture of the building and its surroundings. To design its visual identity, we sought to follow the same steps, that is, combining cozy elements with bold contrasts of scales and colors, creating an amusing and dynamic appearance. As a result, the color swatches, the typographic logo, and the set of illustrations and patterns evoke the tropical-kitsch spirit found within and around the house.
